Hi guys!
Thank you very much for posting.
“Natural” is a good thing. I like that!
Anders.
I would go with the Jazz EZX. That´s a sweet kit and the brushes (swirls) sound great.
Here´s a tune I did with the Jazz EZX.
This was nice. I really like that little melody line you keep coming back to. Great guitar playing, and tone…as always.
I actually bought the Steve Ferrone midi after listening to this tune. Just scanned throught the grooves, and they seem very useful.
Evil drums sound great. Very big and punchy mix! Bass gtr is super fat. Trilian?
Thanks for posting this.
All the best!
Anders.
Keith Carlock is a monster. I really like what he´s doing with the Wayne Krantz band.
Myron, check out the “Krantz Carlock Lefebvre” cd.
Please don´t.
EZ Player Pro is bundled with Superior Drummer. It´s a seperate install (CD1…I think) and you should have the serial number inside your SD2 package. Make sure you update to the latest version because sync to host wasn´t available in the early versions.
Good luck!
Anders.
Jeremy, I think he want SD to sync with his host songposition, play/stop. This can be done with EZ Player Pro (ships with SD).
Edit:
anthonymunoz, EZ Player Pro can do all the things that you ask for. Make sure you´re running the latest version.
I was using only jazz ezx midi for this tune, so I can´t help you with the e-drum setup.
You can try and post a question in the “e-drum workshop” forum.
Davoe: Thanks man!
Anders.
Hey guys, sorry for the late reply!
Thanks for posting the nice comments, and I´m very glad that you all liked this tune.
Jeremy,
I think that the technical term is “swirls”. I tried some different tempos, and they sounded good IMO.
I would use the Jazz EZX for all kinds of “softer” music. I´m actually working on a “rockier” tune right now. I´ll see if I can do two different versions just for comparison (Jazz and C&V).

Scott,
Thank you so much for all your feedback!
Production techniques??? Huh, I don´t know what to say about that. I´m still learning…still learning.
Seriously…I think its all about the arrangement/playing. If the music is well arranged, and not too many parts are playing at once in the same register. Then its much easier to mix.
I´m using ampsims (line6 & amplitube) for gtr and bass, and I try not to push then too hard. Just my two cents!
Take care!
Wiz,
For this tune I used mainly just SD2 midi files as a starting point. I got a good workflow with EZP Pro that came with SD2. Sometimes I use a padkontrol.
All the best!
Anders.
Thanks!
It´s fun trying to sound jazzy sometimes.
I always been sceptical about using midifiles for this kind of music, but I think the drums sound very convincing.
Guitars and bass was recorded with a Radial DI and then re-amped with Podfarm. Forgot to mention that in the first post.
Thanks again!
Anders.
