Hi John,
Thank you for the reply. The odd thing is I don’t experience this problem at all with Addictive Drums and I am using the exact same setup. I am using these products as Standalone.
I have a MacBook Pro with 16 GB ram. I plug the two midi ends of the cord into the Yamaha DTXreme III drum module and I plug the USB end into the MacBook Pro. I have the Yamaha Midi driver installed. Ezdrummer recognizes the Midi source coming from the DTX module.
Main Issues:
HiHat Control
The problem seems to be with the CC4 hi hat control note. On the Yamaha module if I set the parameter called SendHH to Off ->I no longer hear the stick shot sound when activated the hi hat control, but I also do not have the ability to open and close the hi hat. It just remains in the state (open or closed) that it was in before turning off the SendHH parameter on the module. This does not make this a viable solution as I have no hi hat control to EZdrummer when turning this parameter off.
I have tried to use a Midi Capture to see exactly what is going on. I believe my 10 day demo copy of Ezdrummer 2 just expired. Is there any way I can extend this for a few more days to get these issues resolved. I would love to purchase the software but have to get this fixed first.
Cymbal Choke Issue
What would an Aftertouch message look like on EZDrummer details tab? I only use EZdrummer in standalone mode again so I am not using it as a plugin to any other software. All I notice is that when I choke a crash cymbal, it will stay in that choked sounding state and I can continue to hit it over and over and over and it will still make the choked cymbal sound. I have to grasp and hit and grasp and rehit in order for it to release the choke cymbal sound and resume the normal crash sound.
I can try to upload the Midi Notes tomorrow from a midi capture of both of these events. In the meantime, is there anything else I should try. Why would I see this behavior on EZdrummer 2 but not experience it on Addictive Drums software both with exact same setups.
Thanks,
Adam
I have the same problem with Yamaha Dtxtreme III module upgraded to latest dtx 900 firmware. There is no Learn function in EZ Drummer 2.
I downloaded Addictive Drums and tested it and I did not have this problem. Please help get this fixed, I want to give you my money for Ezdrummer 2 but I can’t unless this issue and the fact that cymbal chokes stay choked and do not release.
I have a factory set module and I have yamaha edrum preset selected on Ezdrummer.
What other options do Inhave???
I have the same problem with Ezdrummer 2 on a Yamaha Dtxtreme III module upgraded to the dtx950 firmware plugged into macbook pro with usb to midi cable. If you choke the cymbal it stays stuck in the muted and choked sound. I also have problems with the hi hat CC4 sending a snare stick click sound when ever opened and closed.
I love Ezdrummer demo but no one has been able
to help me. I can’t buy it if I can’t get this fixed.
