I’m looking to get a http://zendrum.com/catalog.html#zapand want to set it up with a hh e-pedal so I can set up 1 trigger for all various open hi hat sounds. I’m using S2 for sounds.
I’m kinda a newbie to all this edrum thing. I’m currently triggering from a Korg PadKontrol.
My first question is: what pedal would you guys recommend?
Second question is: Is there any other gear (besides the ZAP, hh pedal, and cables) that I need to hook up the Zendrum, hh pedal, and my computer running the S2 sounds? I read somewhere that I would need something like an Alesis Trigger IO or a MIDI merger from the MIDI Solutions for doing this hihat setup. Does that sound correct to all you edrum savy dudes?
Thanks in advance for any responces.

you can use anything that sends continuous midi cc. i use the pedal on my pod xt live to control the hihat and it works great. the zendrum has a pedal input so any midi continuous controller pedal should work. here’s a fairly inexpensive one
