Yes I’ve been a newbie when it comes to recording, I’ve used only Workstations when recording. I currently have a Roland VS-200CD workstation, and i want to start recording some of my stuff, mostly jazz , with blues and all other sorts of music. In the past i would pull my drum machine out and record a drum track. (by no means am i a drummer at ALL!) I want to start upping my game with better sound quality and some sort of realistic drummer, and i came across EZ drummer and everyone i’ve talked to pretty much loves it!
With this said, I still want to use my VS-2000CD with EZ drummer and all the other packs, because EZ drummer seems great, how can i do this?
I really don’t want to spend money on converting over to computer recording because i do not know where to start looking for easy or reliable equipment and I’ve already put money into my VS-2000CD. So if anyone knows any way i can do this ANY HELP/Knowledge would be more appreciated before I jump into spending any money!
Once you free yourself of the Vs you will be amazed at what you can do with a real Workstation Daw.
I have owned Vs machines and at one point only recorded with a VS2480 and trusty old 1680 . Trust me , you will be emancipated and totally creatively set free to do anything musically with no hassle. Many other benefits too like…
you will be able to automatically build an itunes database of all your music plus make cd’s,all you songs and sounds live together, sending and sharing files all on the same work surface ,faster general workflow.
If you got a Apple and an obvious Mac Daw like Logic express {or free GarageBand} you can run EZ and play ,record, jam any way you want plus you will get nice bass, piano, strings thrown in for free.
Not to mention the Arranging abilities and editing of not only audio but midi all in one go,so many advantages.
With a Imac or Mac mini or Macbook pro you would only need a interface like a Apogee Duo but you will have an instant powerhouse,
I never looked back.
