Hi guys, I found this to be helpful and thought I’d share the info in case anyone needs it. Currently SD3 does not provide the possibility to audition your audio files before importing them. As I have a very large EDM samples database, the ability to quickly audition files before selecting is invaluable – I posted a request about this and hopefully this will be addressed in the future. In the meantime I’ve found a workaround on Windows 10 which is my OS.
In SD3m click on Add Instrument (top left corner), select Import Audio file from the dropdown menu. Windows explore opens. First go to the folder where your samples are and then go to the left side of the folder and click on Organize. In the dropdown menu select Layout and click the Preview Pane. The Preview Pane on the right side is now available. Click on your sample/s and a window comes up with a play button. You can quickly select and play different samples and when you find the one you like just click open and you’re good to go.
Though this is not the perfect solution, it’s way better than having to first import the file and then playing it to see if that is in fact what you want. Currently working for me so maybe you might find it helpful.
Cheers.
Peace, love and SD Drums
Dude¡! Great tip, maybe they fix/improve this in an update, because the search of own samples its a p.i.t.a. … at least for now.
