Hi, there, just a fun quiz…
let’s talk about our fav DSX on Superior Drummer. my fav is still the NY legacy studio, just for those dark ludwig kicks, the ambience and the history of those recordings….it’s like having a piece of the legendary studio in your recordings… in fact, it is. love it.
which one do you prefer?

The latest one always seems to be my favorite.
The one that is really growing on me the most would be The Evil Drums by Platinum Samples. I like Rail’s presets more than the namesake’s presets though. Probably because my vision for drums is more in line with his.
I was trying to consider which collection would be the first to be deleted if drive space was an issue. (I have them all.) After a minute or two of consideration, I decided that I’d just get a 2 terabyte drive and keep all of them.

My favorite kit is Allaire with C&V cymbals and the C&V Ludwig 1920’s snare. Guess I could do without the cymbals, but not without Chris Whittens favorite snare. Why didn’t they bring it to NY for recording in Allaire?j
C&v for sure with avatar ambience. I love zildjian cymbals and c&v is great for those as well as some great snares. I also have to say I am getting dome nice tones from hit factory which wad a suprise to me as it was the allaire stuff that I originally got ny sdx for.
My favorite by far is the Evil Drums SDX from Platinum Samples. A distant second to that would be Allaire and Avatar.
My favourite is Evil Drums. This is the classic rock drums sound I had in my head for years and I can listen to them and play all of these wonderfull drum kits whenever I close my eyes and sit behind my electronic kit thanks to Joe Barresi, Platinum Samples and Toontrack. I absolutely love the warm, rounded sound of this tape recorded drums. This is an collectors VST library item a must for every VST drummer. I hope we can get more from Platinum Samples and Toontrack soon.
Could you please explain to me how to use C&V sounds with Avatar ambience? Is that possible? I can’t quite wrap my head around that one. Please teach me.
Thanks

Thanks, I too have been confused about this. I didn’t even know you could do the drag thing down to the keyboard… Yes, I guess the info may be somewhere, but then again I have so many plugins and instruments to deal with.
Evil Drums all the way. I also hope Toontrack and Platinum Samples could release more stuff together.
Just wanted to let folks know that C&V, NY Vol 2 and all the EZXs seem to be half price at Audiomidi. Perhaps elsewhere as well, I haven’t checked.
C&V for $75 is sounding pretty tempting!

I can’t believe I did it. I have more than enough drum samples already, but seing how many S2 owners prefer Evil Drums, and reading a lot of good reviews elsewhere I jumped in an bought that one too.
BTW it is half price during July for Europeans:
