Ok. I’m trying to build a kit to trigger SP2. I want the most realistic feel possible. I’m looking for a used module on ebay, I would go with the TD-12 but they’re harder to find and more expensive. I don’t care about the inboard sounds all I care about the best midi signals being sent to SP2. There’s a lot of conflicting data on what the TD-10 TDW-1 has for positional sensing on toms, rims and ride cymbals.
Has anybody used both the TD-10 TDW-1 and the TD-12 with SD2?
Does the TD-10 TDW-1 have position sensing on toms?
Does the TD-10 TDW-1 have rim sounds on the toms?
What are the advantages of the TD-12 if any?
I’ve seen the Wiki Roland Chart but this doesn’t give enough info. I need some feedback from folks that have used the actual modules.
Thanks!!!
I won’t be able to advise you on what is best for you, but here are a few facts that are hopefully correct but certainly relevant:
Does the TD-10 TDW-1 have position sensing on toms?
I believe it has, but there is no support for it in Superior (for various reasons it is just not possible)
Does the TD-10 TDW-1 have rim sounds on the toms?
That is a definite yes.
What are the advantages of the TD-12 if any?
The main advantage I can see (for driving Superior) is the official support for the VH hats, if you are considering using one.
