Hi Superior Drummer Cats and Kitty’s!!
I thought for sure after I saw the Metal Foundry release a Rush/Neil Peart kit would be just around the corner, but no? Are you kidding me? Arguably the most famous, and unquestionably the most respected percussionist in drum history and there’s NOTHING available or in develpment? What I’ve been longing for and searching endlessly for is something for SD that would at least give me some ‘higher register’ roto toms so we could start doing some respectable ‘across the kit’ fills, instead of this quickly becoming cliche ‘lets only concentrate on hardcore kick drum modelling so the customers can do speed metal/metal/whatever label you choose to put on it drumming. Its been done now, 1000 times over, can we please concentrate on some new toms please? If I was allowed to choose, I’d like to see at least an 8 tom package (4 stand alone roto toms, 2 kick, 2 floor), or at the least, an add on with four adjustable roto toms, just like the real thing, where spinning it on its threaded post tightens or loosens the skin. Is this in the works/development at all? I think it would undoubtedly really open up the usability of SD/EZD don’t you agree?

Thanked by: MasonR2, Frameshifter and SergeantBergman+1 for the EZX and or SDX Neil Peart.
In the meantime, if you’re a fan of Neil Peart you can check: IK Multimedia Neil Peart Drums SampleTank 3 Sound Library or Sonic Reality Neil Peart Drums Volume 1: The Kit

Thanked by: MasonR2 and FrameshifterI’d pay for that… Even if it wasn’t an official Neil Peart Kit, make something that could clearly be used for that purpose. Neil Peart Drums on SampleTank is neat, but, really limited in use. Their samples are OK, but, Toontrack ease of use and sound quality is superior (all puns intended). I’d be shocked if there wasn’t a Rush fan working for Toontrack. It’s time fellas!!!

Thanked by: MasonR2 and SergeantBergmanYeah, where is a Neil Peart kit? He’s got so many toms, temple blocks, cymbals, cowbells, etc. Especially since Neil Peart has retired since he’s been having physical pains just playing the songs live on tour. We should at least have the downloadable edition of Peart’s massive drum kit!

Thanked by: MasonR2 and SergeantBergmanBIG +1 from me too. I believe he has some spare time on his hands right now. I would even be happy with a midi pack.
I already built a kit with SD3 that includes 3 additional Hi Toms and created some fills with Grid Editor but they aren’t quite as good as Neil’s fills (actually nowhere close).
Great suggestion
