Hi all, umm….i’ve had ezdrummer up & running for a few days now & i’ve been hearing about a “follow host” button….except i cant see it on mine…! What is going on there…? I did have a few probs trying to get ezdrummer to be visible in Studio One 3….but thats sorted out now….except i have no follow host button. Any ideas..?
Thanks in advance
Can you post a pic of the EZD2 interface opened as a VST Instrument in Studio One?

Thanks for the quick reply Scott. I’ll have to do it tomorrow, just on my way to work
Cheers

Ok i think i know what the problem is….just not how to fix it. Seems i’m back to square one- i can select it as a VST & drag it onto an instrument track…ezdrummer openes up but is too small to really use, so i have to also open ezdrummer up, which i think is in standalone mode. The problems i was having before in trying to get ezdrummer working in Studio One 3 are obviously not solved. I had searched everywhere for answers & was just getting ‘drag ezdrummer from the right hand pane onto an instrument track’…! Problem was….i couldnt see it at all….so cant drag it..! I’m even more at a loss to understand whats going on than i was before. I thought i needed to tell Studio One 3 where ezdrummer was located first…but everyone just said install it, drag it onto a track……i seriously have no idea how or why this is……
(I am assuming that you are talking about EZdrummer 2 here)
The standalone version of EZdrummer 2 (the one that opens up by itself, without loading it in a host, such as Studio One) can’t be used inside a host.
In Studio One 3, you need to open EZdrummer 2 just as you open up any other instrument plugin. If you can’t get that to work, let us know.

Thanks Henrik
Well….still lost here. When i open up ezdrummer as a vst….its too small to actually use…..so i open it up separately & hence no follow host button. What am i missing here..? It appears i am the only one with this problem. How can something so simple, be so difficult in this case..?
Is the plugin small because of your screen resolution? Are your other instrument plugins also as small?
When you open EZdrummer 2 as a standalone (separately), you can’t use that in Studio One 3 – so that’s no solution unfortunately…

Its a 15in screen. The plug in looks to be about 2 or 3 inches. I can use ezdrummer in Studio One 3 the as a standalone (i think..?)…i can drag midi from ezdrummer onto a track, but there is no follow host button. This is driving me nuts..! I’ve searched everywhere for answers….but just get a standard ‘just drag ezdrummer onto a track…done..!’ response.
I’ve attached a pic here…..ok….now i cant. File size too big…! Going nowhere fast…..!
I can’t tell if you’re running version 2.1.3 of EZD2 but that would be my first step if not.

Here’s the pic
I tried to enlarge your screenshot.
Isn’t that the “Follow Host” button enabled (yellow) to the left of the Song Creator button?
Ok….i should have cleared that up at the start- latest version of ezdrummer, latest update of Studio One 3 Pro, my laptop exceeds the min specs, nothing to do with screen resolition or any other obvious things…
Yes it is the follow host button. The problem which i am trying to get across is – when i drag ezd into a track…it is too small to use…impossible in fact. I can open up ezd as standalone but then no follow host button..!
Tech support said its most likely my screen resolution & suggested i lower it. I haven’t got my laptop with me at the moment but i think its highly unlikely to be the cause. Lowering the screen resolution will then negatively affect how Studio One 3 is displayed. How can i be the only one that has experienced this problem..? Studio One 3 is optimized for high res display….so am i to believe that if i use Studio One 3 on a high res screen, then to use Ezdrummer i would have to lower the resolution..? Very odd indeed..!
