Hi Guys – I’m recording a cover of Zeppelin’s Ten Years Gone. I have the drum score and have programed it into my DAW and it sounds good but I was unsure about one specific drum notation…. in this photo there’s a slash through a snare hit that I assume is some sort of ruff/roll/diddle thing…. but I’m not entirely sure
Do you know what it is? How would you program it? (see measures 33, 36 & 37)

Just want to say that a user pointed out that the single slash like that usually means a doible hit, so in this case two 32nd notes. I’d say it’s solved!

I’m a drummer that reads and R. Goble is mostly correct
You’ll see that slash used on longer note values for a roll, sustained the length of the note using bounced strokes.
However it isn’t always used to play two notes (LL).
It can be an indeterminate amount of notes that are produced by buzzing or pressing on a snare.
I’m still learning SD3 but you can use the snare “ruff” articulation to get that sound
