I’d like to upgrade my High-Hat set-up and was looking for some feedback as to what is the best choice.
Right now I have a Hart Dynamics Pro 6.4 (2002 Model) with a Roland TD20 Module and use it with 2.0 and EZ drummer. The set has the old Epedal Pro Variable High Hat Control and the Ecymbal II Single zone cymbal. Everyone who plays the kit complains about the feel and response of the high-hat.
I’ve been looking at some of the following:
1) Harts New EPEDAL II electronic hi-hat pedal and make a diy dual zone cymbal for it.
2) Field Electronics HH-1 MODULAR 14” hi-hat top and bottom (includes built in controller)
3) Pintechs ZB14HH-RB 14″ 14″ Dual Zone Hi-Hat Pair w/Controller
4) Pintechs HHC RYC Hi-Hat Controller mounted on a standard high-hat stand and diy 2-zone cymbal
5) Roland FD-7 pedal
What is the best way to go with a high hat set-up? Any input would be appreciate.
Thanks in advance
Tom
