Well. We´re just good at it that´s all.
This is a project from the man that
started DDrums so it´s going to be quite
interesting to see how it comes out.

    It certainly looks great!

I guess that’s the next logical step in drum modules.

I really can’t stand the sound of Roland units. I don’t understand why they cost so much.

I spoke today with a drummer I know, who also works in a music store and he said that the 2box was going to be great and not that expensive as comparable, e.g. Roland units.
Only thing is that it seems to be delayed, so I wouldn’t expect any shippable units until fall.

I noticed that there wasn’t a dealer for the U.S.

That is too bad for me.

So, Andreas – you do a lot of country tunes, too?

    Are you an undercover hick?

I saw 2Box at NAMM this year… and I wasn’t sure what to think.  I mean, it looked good, and the module idea is great.  But it was so far from a finished product that I wasn’t sure why they were there!  I don’t think it’ll hurt their sales in the future, but it sure did make me wonder why they were so eager to be at NAMM.

On a side note, Sweden sure did produce some great drum samplers!  I’ve been using EZDrummer for about a week now… and it’s fan-tastic!

I saw a Musicmesse video recently in which the 2box representative mentioned that they have already come to an agreement with Fxpansion to make the BFD libraries compatible with their new kit, and that they would probably do the same with Toontrack. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to say anything definitive until the ink is dry on the contract, but does that sound like something you guys would consider doing?

I know I’d love to be able to play a Toontrack kit directly from the module. It would obviously be ideal for practice and live performance situations, and would also allow for low latency monitoring while recording MIDI tracks, which could then be used with DFHS2 on the PC to tweak the sounds as desired for the final recording.

And best of all, a DrumIt kit/module loaded with Toontrack sounds would sound better than anything Roland or Yamaha makes, cost less than either company’s top of the line kit, be far more expandable, and would eliminate the last advantage their kits have over a software based system (convenience). Assuming 2box’s distribution was up to snuff, I’d imagine that both companies’ sales would go through the roof.
