There is a button on the Superior drummer grooves page – it’s to the right of the description of which groove is currently playing (somewhere in the middle of the window) – turn this button off (I think when it is on it’s in blue, or maybe when it’s off it’s in blue I can’t remember), anyway change this and then Superior will follow the tempo of your track.

Have you tried this, it should do exactly what you are wanting…Unless I misunderstood what you’re asking (I’ve just woken up )

    Jeremy,
Thanks for the reply, and I’ll check that out a little later today. But I’m pretty sure it does not do exactly what I am looking for. What BFD does: it will lock its groove timeline in with your DAW playhead. For example: I’ll record a bar worth of a guitar part in Logic to a click. Then in BFD I can click on different grooves to audition how they sound with my guitar part (while looped) at any time, keeping the groove in sync with the Logic playhead (and my guitar part). This way, you don’t have to drag a groove into your track to see if you like how it matches up with your part. I hope that makes sense….

That said, even if SD does not have that function, I still like it much better than BFD for many reasons. Its not that hard to move the groove to your track, but the audition of grooves to a looped section is really cool in BFD2. I hope they consider this function into SD someday….

Jeremy, I think he want SD to sync with his host songposition, play/stop. This can be done with EZ Player Pro (ships with SD).

    Edit:
anthonymunoz, EZ Player Pro can do all the things that you ask for. Make sure you´re running the latest version.

    Jeremy,
That is correct. I want the groove player to sync with my hose play/stop functions But I don’t think I have EZ Player. I thought they got rid of that with the newest version of Superior since the Groove section is now built into the Superior 2 program window. But I’ll check to see if I do have that later on tonight.

    Anders,
Thanks for the info. I was not aware of that program. That is EXACTLY what I am looking for. I’ll make that purchase today!!

I just saw that it does come with SD2. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out. Thanks again for the tip.

    Please don´t.
EZ Player Pro is bundled with Superior Drummer. It´s a seperate install (CD1…I think) and you should have the serial number inside your SD2 package. Make sure you update to the latest version because sync to host wasn´t available in the early versions.
    Good luck!

SD will definitely sync with the Logic playhead/tempo, but doesn’t respond to Logic’s Start and Stop here.

Yeah, I hear what you’re saying about getting SD to stop/start when you press ‘play/stop’ in Logic. It’s not a huge deal for me, since you can just right-click on the groove (in the groove browser) that you want and it will start/stop the groove. So in your example, you could loop your guitar part and audition grooves to go with it in the groove browser of SD by right-clicking on the groove name, or even the groove part you want to hear. This is how I work all the time…
