What does replace midi do on EZkeys and EZbass ?

Hello.

Can someone explain what the replace midi function is doing on a technical level. I know it transposes but what does it do to midi it can’t transpose ? I could figure it out by opening midi files and analysing but I thought there might be some kind soul on here that can explain it in a bit more detail. Thank you.
