Is there a way to utilize all the memory available on a 32GB RAM MBPro? I use SD3 for live performance and I like to program a different kit for each song. It takes a few seconds to load a new kit, and I’d like it to be instant. Is there a way to have SD3 store one or more kits in memory while another is actively playing?
Hi,
not currently, no. I haven’t tried it myself but I imagine if your kit presets all held the same drums in memory, it should only take an instant to switch a preset. If it would work, you would have to have sounds not currently used loaded but not assigned or muted and it would be pretty messy to set up your presets.
But this is the Requests & Feedback section after all, so Toontrack HQ will see your request.

John

Thanked by: MBrady1967Another option is to use a DAW.
Setting up SD3 on separate tracks will load the samples from each instance into memory, and you could use MIDI or similar to switch active lanes (instance of SD3).

Thanked by: MBrady1967I use Ableton Live 10. If I load SD3 into a scene, I still have to switch back and forth between kits in the SD3 application. Is there a way to have one kit on one scene, and then automatically load another kit on the next scene, utilizing AL10 to make that change?
