Hi all,
I just purchased EZ Keys 2 yesterday, was very excited to jump into it. One issue I’m having though, which wasn’t apparent from the promo videos, is that there’s seemingly no way to tell EZ Keys that my song is in a specific mode.
I can set the key to “D Minor”, for instance, and that will populate the Suggest Chords feature and also change the representation in the Chord Wheel when editing chords.
Seperately, in the Grid Editor, I can set the “Highlight Rows” feature to “D Dorian”, and as part of that window it will even tell me what the chords of D Dorian are.
But the “Dorian” mode is not carried back to the song key – so all of the chord suggestions/chord wheels continue to act as though the song is in D Minor.
As a result, I have to just remember what all the Dorian chords are, and I can’t use the “Suggest Chords” feature at all for these songs.
It seems very strange to me that the Grid Editor has a different “key” than the rest of the plugin, so I’m hoping I’ve just missed something somewhere. How can I tell EZ Keys that its in Dorian?
I was wondering the same, but as this was suggested as a feature as far back as 2018, I don’t think it’ll be implemented any time soon.
