Hi, I hope you’ll excuse me if Ive posted in the wrong place; I came across this group during a search for DIY drum ideas (pvc drums came up). I picked up these at a yard sale last week and my imagination has been working on an idea since: Id like to make an outdoor drum (art piece) set up that sounds decent for what it is. which will hold up to rain (could put it under an umbrella if needed), something of an interactive piece for my yard. I have those drum heads and am hoping for suggestions that will help me make them drummable again. I fiddle around with making ‘art’ pieces by upcycling found objects (such as a fountain from a birdbath, shaker, martini glasses and an empty gin bottle) and Ive made a list of possible items to look for to fasten them to but Im not a drummer so there may be some that are way better than others on my list or that I havent thought of yet: metal bowls, pots, lamp shade, water jug, cardboard cylinder.
So if Ive sparked your imagination, please, let me know how you might go about such a project – Im a ‘make do’ resourceful kinda gal who seldom uses things the “right” way, unless global implosion could result.
Thanks
Sharona
