Use Ezdrummer2 to duplicate drum tracks in cover songs?

Hi. I’ve just downloaded the demo version of EZdrummer2 and intend to try it out in Ableton Live. I’m curious if it can help with a workflow of duplicating drums tracks for specific cover songs. For example, if I import a cover song audio into Ableton and place it on the arrangement view timeline, would I be able to use EZdrummer2 to play along with sections of the cover song and interactively create beats, shots, filles, etc to more or less duplicate the drums in MIDI? I’m not a drummer and don’t have any MIDI instruments but am wondering if using the keyboard would work in this case?

Or, is there a better way to do this with EZdrummer2 tools?
