What do you mean “none of the program shortcuts work?” The Solo shortcut to open Solo or the path to EZDrummer that loads inside Solo?

Try uninstalling Solo and remove any shortcuts. Then reinstall version 1.1.

If you navigate to the Toontrack folder in Program Files and open the Solo folder and click the executable, does Solo open?

No, I get the same error…

    “C:Program FilesToontrackToontrack soloToontrack solo.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.”

But I have tried reinstalling and I still get the same result.  I’m going to try to uninstall solo altogether and try it again now……………

Nope, no luck.  I uninstalled Solo from Windows control panel, then tried installing the new version of Solo, same result.  Will not open, same error.

hi – make sure you have a fairly recent version of the .NET framework. You can download the most recent version (as well as intermediary) here:

The problem is on my business laptop (corporate), so .NET and other updates are done on the IT departments schedule as they see the need for it.

Maybe the new version of Solo just won’t run on this laptop until they decide to do the updates.

Is there anyway I can download the old 1.0 version of Solo for now so I can at least go back to where I was?  Please let me know.  Thanks!

the logistic for it would be fairly complicated so the short answer is no. But I’ll see if one of the guy can hook you up to it tomorrow…

I got the 1.0 install sent to me.  Thanks guys.  Also, for any people reading this, the problem is only on my laptop.  I upgraded Solo on my studio desktop computer and I had no problem.  I would say my problem might be related to permission settings on my laptop seeing as it’s a corporate machine on which I have very little admin rights to do anything.

But thanks Toontrack for helping me out so quickly.  I’ve never had a company’s service/support work so quickly, effectively, and with a smile!  Thanks guys!

FYI we are looking at providing an update in the near future that does away with the .NET dependency as, on closer inspection, this may not be required. No ETA yet but in case others read this and are reluctant to install .NET components on their DAW we will at least attempt the above so bear with us a couple of weeks or so and we may be able to resolve it.
