I’m afraid that there’s no upgrade to EZdrummer 2 from Superior Drummer 2.

    They work together though correct?

That depends on what you mean with “work together”

EZdrummer can send MIDI out so if your host support that then you can use EZdrummer 2 to play sounds from Superior Drummer. EZdrummer can read all your Superior Drummer MIDI (including the SDX’s) but EZdrummer 2 cannot load sounds from Superior Drummer.

Very informative and I really appreciate it. I guess that I just need to know what the difference between the two are. I bought superior and I just started getting into it. I will have a daw this week and i will begin laying tracks down. TOONTRACK SOLO and SUPERIOR work together, what does EZDRUMMER do that they don’t or vice versa? My goal is to write and record these songs that i have, i don’t play drums, and get them to my bandmates.
Thanks so much for the help,

EZdrummer is the song writer’s tool. EZ2 has great new features for finding
and modifying MIDI grooves. It is somewhat limited in what you can do
with the sounds but instead, what you can do, is easy to do and the results are
    full quality professional sounds.

Superior is the producer’s/sound engineer’s tool. Here you are in total
control of the drum mix. The song writing features of Superior 2 are similar
to those of EZdrummer 1, i.e. rudimentary compared to EZdrummer 2.

Then I think it would only be fitting to offer it “at a reduced rate” to those of us who own superior 2, and want to use the ezd2’s midi drop in creation functions. I haved owned superior 2 since 2009, and love the quality of the samples, routing, etc. It makes no sense that the lessor product would have more funtionality for certain areas, unless there is an Superior update coming soon….
