I am also having the same problem. I installed the update to EZDrummer 2 and the sound library update, and now on the “search” tab, it says “Unexpected Error” and to please close all instances of EZdrummer and try again. I have uninstalled and versions and reinstalled twice, but the error message still keeps coming up.
The drum sounds are still working, but the midi section is where the error occurs. Also, when I start up Pro tools, it has the warning
“this EZdrummer is not the latest installed on this system. The version you should be using can be found here: C:Program Files (x86)VSTPluginsToontrack”
Makes no sense because Protools plugins should not have been installed in VST plugin folder.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi,
    please try the following:
you need to remove some files in the ‘AppDataRoaming’ folder. This is a hidden folder but you can open the Windows Explorer and type in ‘C:UsersyourComputerUserNameHereAppData’ to access it, or click Start > Computer > Hold ALT + T to get the tools menu open > Folder Options > View > Enable “Show hidden files, folders and drives” and Untick “Hide protected operating system files”. I would prefer the first way myself.
Then please remove the following files:
MidiDB, MidiDB_fav, MidiDB-shm, MidiDB-wal (if they exist) from
    “C:/Users/”CurrentUser”/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer”
    and
    “C:/Users/”CurrentUser”/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer/OnlineMIDI”
    BR,
    John

    Hi
I’ve got the Same Issue on a Mac (OS 10.10.5)
I found and removed all the files you suggested …

When I rebooted EZdrummer they were all recreated … But
    It made no difference 🙁

I had the problem installing midi libraries, the search función didn’t work until I erases midiDB file in the library.

My question: what’s the scope of this file ? If I erase it everything seems Ok. Maybe I undervaluate the consequences of my action. Thanks.

    Hi,

to simplify it, the database makes the plugin work faster and needs to be there for the Search function to work.
If you delete it, it simply is rebuilt.

dear John, thanks for your explaination. So if I erase midiDB file, once i restart EZ drummer and the midi library is updated, the muduDB fuke will be generated ince again ?

Thank you very much. Now everything seems clear to me. I would only ask another question in order to complete the pucture: when ez drummer finish to search all the libraries, how many midiDB files will be generated ? Once for all or one for each library folder ?
