Hi,
I have currently created a midi groove with SD3 with my midi controller and edited the pattern with the grid editor. Now, how do I save the groove to my midi library so i can use it for other songs/ideas.
I tried dragging the midi block into the user midi folder (attached image) and it didn’t work. Can someone help me out.
D.

Thanked by: alex feuchterOpen the tab “Track”. Pick “export track as MIDI file…then save the file to a folder you create.

Thanked by: alex feuchterHi,
you should be able to drag it to the User MIDI folder, though. That’s the folder right above the one that’s highlighted in your screen shot.

Hey all,
I literally cannot drag anything into the user midi folder. It doesn’t work. I’ve wasted hours (and I mean hours) trying to figure out why it will not simply drag and drop into the folder. I’ve tried dragging it into the main “gray area” and I’ve tried dragging it into the small user file and nothing reacts. No error, no warning, no nothing. Even after dragging I tried sync file changes and nothing is there???
The annoying part is that now I see that all “you” guys can simply drag and drop which is very frustrating. I removed the favorites star and it also did nothing. I’m not sure what settings I have different than you guys but for whatever reason it does not work. I just installed the program and have set nothing different. The rest of the program works fine but this one thing (which is the reason why I basically bought it) doesn’t work. Such garbage.
It is going to be annoying that every time I have to export just to make a midi file….

I see that you’re running on a Windows PC. I’m on a Mac, so I can’t test my theory for you, but
is it possible that the location designated as ‘User MIDI’ is located in a folder restricted by the Windows UAC (User Access Control)?
Try removing UAC from the User MIDI folder. Or moving the location of User MIDI folder, if possible.
Unfortunately the UAC setting did nothing. It actually was already wide open. My PC I have is literally only for recording. I know you’re on a mac but I cannot find the user midi folder on my PC. Anyone with a PC know where it is located?
I tried something else and also have this problem.
Even when I tried to “open the file in explorer” (attached image) it doesn’t open anything. Does anyone have this problem. It’s like the folder doesn’t exist.
Can someone using a PC tell me the correct location of their USER MIDI file and I will create one.

Thanks Scott for finding that other posting.
That solved the problem. Basically I had to create the “User MIDI” folder in DocumentsToontrackEZdrummerUser MIDI.
Once the folder was created I opened the program and it works perfect. Thanks again.
Cheers.

Thanks for posting this. I was also having problems placing files in this folder, but now I have it working like you.
I posted earlier about exporting to a folder I created myself in another location, and I do feel this is a good way to create files that I can give a unique name
