two different sets in same mix

Just bought bfd2 and was wondering if it´s possible to mix two different sets, one from bfd2 and one from supperior drummer in same song. If yes is there any rules?. Have seen two sets used in live settings, but was wondering if it´s ever used in recordings.

There are no rules per se. Most people probably strive to make the instruments on the virtual stage dwell in the same space.
I would see no problems when using the close mics. May sound funky if the Room mics are loud but then again that’s the benefit of making music nowadays; it’s totally up to you to decide what works and not.
