I’m in the process of going through this now. The PM is bad enough on it’s own with having to install everything separately but the fact that they wont update the main installers and you have to update every single package after you install it, sometimes more than once, is unforgivable and just plain lazy on their part.

Forgot to mention the latter – and you are of course 100% spot on with it! Updating the main installers is indeed market standard. Really afraid of the next time I have to clean my workstation and install everything new (will be the case in the next 6 months). Bought a few more products during black friday, so it will be around…

I’m sure the product team is aware of how frustrating the installation process can be. It’s been a pain point for a while now, and I can’t help but wonder—why hasn’t it been improved? They either don’t’ care or don’t have the will or skill to fix their installers.

The more products I buy from them, the more frustrating it becomes to use the Product Manager. Installing a single product once in a while is fine, but when you need to install multiple products? It’s painfully slow and unnecessarily tedious.

As the OP said, let’s hope you never have to reset your computer and reinstall everything. If you own a lot of their products, the process is an absolute nightmare—it takes hours!

You’re stuck clicking through the same screens over and over again, with 6–8 steps per product. And just when you think you’re done, updates appear for the newly installed products, forcing you to go through the same approval screens again. Seriously—why am I approving a license twice for something I just installed?

I’m going through the process again today, and wow—it’s just as frustrating as ever. It really makes you wonder why this hasn’t been improved, especially when you compare it to other vendors’ Product Managers, which are so much more efficient.

We are approaching three years since I was told TT looking to improve this aspect: https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/updating-multiple-products-feature-request/

Unlikely it’s ever going to happen.

I didn’t see your thread before…man, that’s bollocks. Their software doesn’t look like it’s developed by some random script kiddies. So developing a product manager shouldn’t be a topic which takes years in the making.

I’ve been using Toontrack products since 2017.
I have both EZDrummer and Superior Drummer as well as EZBAss, but I’m dreading to buy any new libraries as the service part of TT is a nightmare.

Very slow download speeds and as OP pointed out need to go through unnecessary steps to install a simplest update are atrocious!

I am hoping we will get SD4 soon but I am not looking forward to all the hassle that comes with download and installation.

Add my voice to this. had to reinstall Windows due to update errors (before that a hard disc failure.)

i just want to set general preferences (VST path, library location or whatever) then click ‘install all’

The current thing of installing evrry single library individually, the every single update manually, has taken days. The XLN manager did it in about 1/2 hour with one click. The Toontrack way is NASTY

Pretty much every other installer does that (I know because I’ve had to do it several times now recently)

Please listen Toontrack ! Otherwise an excellent product but this needs to change !
