Good day everyone I thought I would share a product I recently discovered for flawless triggering of kick drums. I found a company out of Russia called TrigMic and decided to give their laser triggering system a test seeing as it is relatively low cost.
I received my unit last Friday and within 20 minutes of use had the unit dialed in so well that I have now put my Roland TM-2 and Kick and snare trigger for sale.
The unit can be used stand alone as it is also a module that has 2 banks A&B that can each hold 5 kick samples or as a trigger for any drum module. I did a video comparison of the Laser Pick Vs Rolands TM-2 and posted the video at youtube.
This would be a great option for the many DYI drum builders as all you would need is an old kick drum a mesh head and some foam muffling inside until you got the perfect feeling kick and just add a Laser Pick to the kick drum hoop and have flawless drum triggering with zero cross talk.
It has been a long time since i used the Superior Drummer products as I had an 8 year break away from playing do to a car accident. In the future I do plan to get back into fully trigger my kit with the Pearl Mimic Pro used with Superior Drummer products.
I also suggested ToonTrack making sample packs of 5 different kick drums that you can buy for a decent price to load into the TrigMic, hopefully they consider my request.
