Triggering Superior Drummer from USB

Sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere, I’ve had no luck in finding it.

I have an Alesis DM10 Pro kit that is connected to a Mac via USB. The Alesis is transmitting note data from its USB port. However, SD is not responding. Can someone please tell what parameters need to be set within SD to make this work? I am using the GM MIDI setup and checked to be sure that the DM10 is transmitting the same MIDI notes as are assigned to the snare, kick, toms, etc. in SD. Also, does my problem have to do with something that needs to be set up on the Audio/MIDI setup screen of the Mac?
