I installed EZ Drummer, Toontrack and EZX Cocktail and the only thing showing up in my programs is Toontrack – I then tried repair on the installation but nothing..any help would be appreciated..
Toontrack is the name of the company, not one of their products.
With the product EZdrummer, you should have EZdrummer (the kits) and the cocktail kit (extra).
the only thing showing up is Toontrack solo – should I uninstall then reinstall ?
shouldn’t I have some sort of icon on my desktop if it installed properly ?
I assume what you are referring to as showing up as toontrack would be the toontrack solo program?
What you are referring to as programs area would be under the start-programs area and not in the control panel-programs and features?
If I am correct then you install is fine if you look in the control panel-Programs and Features(Windows 7) you will see EZDrummer, Cocktail, and any other EZX’s or SDX’s you have installed, The reason for this is the only one that is actually a program you can use stand alone is Toontrack Solo all other programs either have to be opened in Toontrack solo or one of the recording programs that allow you to use SoftSynth VSTi or RTAS plug in’s.
I hope this helps some.

got it up & running thanks guys – as i’m reading the manual I guess I need a sequencer too ?
I thought I could create my tracks in EZ drummer then import them into my korg D888 as wav files – I do 90% of my work in the korg so this computer stuff is a bit new to me – any help would be appreciated –
I would suggest you look into getting EZplayer pro if you want to do that then you can build you drum tracks in EZPlayer then export it so you can then use it in your Korg.
I would think that would be the easiest and cheapest option, I do have EZplayer Pro although I have not used it that exact way yet as I have Cakewalk SONAR X1 which Is what I normally use to build my drum tracks.
I started out with EZDrummer and EZX Drum Kit From Hell, Which worked out really nice then I happened upon somone selling DFh Superior Custom and Vintage along with S2.0 upgrade (They had previously recieved permission from toontrack to transfer License) at a rediculously low price so I jumped on that and added The Metal Foundry SDX which I also found rediculously low ( Got all the software for $230, 130 for DFH superior and S2.0 and $100 for TMF SDX)
The S2.0 came with EZPlayer pro which is a awesome product as it allows you to play all sorts of MIDI files and actually seperate the MIDI if needed to individual instruments.
I would highly recommend you download teh Use manual of EZPlayer pro so you can get an idea of what you can do with it.
I think from what you have posted though that this is exactly what you want and it can be opened using Toontrack solo so you can build you tracks and then export them.

I just D’loaded EZ Player Pro and see it’s 32 bit or 64 bit – my Korg is 16 bit – won’t that trash my machine ?
did I just waste $150.00 on stuff I can’t use ?
WTF ?
anybody know ?
EZplayer being 32 bit or 64 bit spec has to do with the computer OS and host. If your computer is 32-bit and running a 32-bit host, you would install the 32-bit version of EZplayer. If, on the other hand, your computer is 64-bit and are using a 64-bit host, you would install the 64-bit version of EZplayer.

thanks Scott but I read about a guy who trashed 2 Korgs like mine using 32 bit files – am I missing something here ?
the files when I import them into my Korg will be ? bit
will I have an option to save my finished drum tracks in 16 bit ?
i’m still installing so I haven’t gotten that far yet – thanks..
You’ll have to explain your expected workflow with your gear so I can offer some opinion.

I’ll be creating drum tracks in EZ Drummer and then pasting them together in EZ Player Pro and saving them as wav files so I can import them into the Korg D888 – thanks
OK. Well, you select the bit depth (16-bit or whatever) when you render your drum wav files in your host DAW.
EZplayer deals with MIDI files and not audio files. EZdrummer then triggers the proper drum sounds by interpreting the MIDI data. You can then bounce your MIDI files down to audio in your host DAW.
BTW, what host DAW are you using?

wait…DAW ?
my Korg is my DAW
Korg D888 – it’s a standalone unit setup like an analog mixer – I hook it up to my laptop and can import or export files – PLEASE don’t tell me I have to buy something else to make this work..
