I have SD2 and for the most part am happy with it. I am thinking of upgrading soon though after watching some vids and reading the reviews. I am still ‘on the fence’ though and would be interested in hearing your thoughts and opinions.
I currently use a roland td 11 kit to trigger SD2 and record into presonus studio one 3.
My hi hat when used with the Solo program works flawlessly ever since i discovered the CC Offset tab in the menu.
The SD2 vst inside my DAW does not have this option and my hi hat does not perform as well, despite all my best efforts and research into this.
I see SD3 has some new features for edrums. Have they specifically addressed this issue with the hi hat? Is there an CC Offset option in the SD3 vst?
My other issue is the size of the program. 230 Gigs. My main DAW computer sports a 500 gig SSD drive and my edrum laptop that i use to play and record my edrums only has a 250gig SSD. I see there is an option to buy the program or sound library (???) on an SSD for an extra $200. Can i use this as an external HD to go back and forth between my PC and laptop? I currently have and need SD2 on both and would want the same setup if i upgrade.
Any previous SD2 users who upgraded to 3 want to share their experience? Is it worth it to upgrade given my situation?
Thanks alot!

I can’t speak to your questions about e-drums, but regarding the optional SSD,
it CAN be used as an external HD to go back and forth between your PC and laptop.
And as far as the 230GB SD3 sound library, you do not have to install the entire 230GB.
The library is constructed in such a way that you can download & install it in increments.
I believe that there are a few other threads that address some of these particulars…
Downloads 1 and 2, which I think are all that’s necessary, add up to about 80gb.
