I just finished a new song. My new Duo partner did the lead Vocal melody line. That was a great help. He is by far a more advanced singer than me.
Creating a new song is always a new challenge for me and therefore exciting.
The song structure is pretty “classical”. It has a Intro-Strophe-Prechorus-Chorus-Bridge-Outro construction.
I recorded the Rhythm guitar tracks with my old Line 6 POD HD500. The lead parts wre recorded with my Marshall JVM410 head, a power attenuator and a DI-box (no micing) with a decent mix of a 2×12/4×12 cab-sim.
The Bass and keys are played with a midi keyboard and special plugins.
For the drum part I have used my EZ Drummer 2 Basic package. I love the EZ Drummer 2 Modern Basic drumkit. That is my togo set. I think for a good recording, it is crucial to allocate a separate track inside the DAW (I use Cubase Artist) for each drum part (kick, snare, Hihat, etc.). That enables a lot of freedom to EQ and mixing.
I think the audio and video fits nicely together., although we went a bit wet 🙂
What do you think ?
