    yes, there is nothing to stop you assigning bow and edge triggers to different cymbals. You will however have to tweak the note value send by your module to match the cymbal you want to trigger.

    It’s totally possible to have a tom sample on the tom head, and a splash or china on the rim.  It’s EZ 😉
     
    I believe my latest video has a little section about changing midi note numbers.  NOTE: you don’t need a splitter of any sort for that!

    I got DFH loaded last night.  So these posts came just in time.
    I finally got all my cymbal sounds but they were in weird places.
    I will check out the videos and errr maybe i will read the Manual?   “p

    It’s just a matter of assigning your cymbals’ MIDI notes to where you’d like them… if you can find the right setting on the TD for changing MIDI notes, then you’ll be fine.

    Just to make it easy for people are searching the forum to change the MIDI note number on a TD8.
    Select Pad, Advanced, MIDI, and change the value.  FWIW you can also preview!
