Unfortunately, EZDrummer has limited E-drum support. EZD is more targeted towards producers and song writers rather than full on e-drummers. It does perform better in http://www.toontrack.com/product/toontrack-solo/ but not nearly as well as the fully e-drum supported http://www.toontrack.com/s20.asp. Perhaps grandaddy or some other e-drum head can offer any further tips on getting better performance.

And, I know of no way to load EZDrummer sounds into any 3rd party drum module like the TD12.

Thanks so much for the Reply!

Are you saying that Superior Drummer will work flawlessly with my TD12? If so I will get the upgrade today!

I can only echo what Scott says, the best edrum performance comes from Superior 2….also there is an update planned (no eta yet) with even more edrum specific control. You can load your ezdrummer sounds into Superior 2 plus you also get the full version of the Avatar 1 soundset.

You can get perfectly useable edrum performance from ezdrummer in toontrack solo, but it sounds like you will be using protools.

Will you please stop tempting me to get an edrum kit, people? Sheesh! I really need to pay the rent this month.

note that your choke issue has nothing to do with EZdrummer, ProTools filters the relevant information (polypressure aftertouch to be precise) by default. The hihat is how it is however but should be pretty good when using Toontrack solo, as already stated.

What do you mean “your choke issue has nothing to do with EZdrummer” Is there a way to get it to work in protools? And is it possible to get the hi hat working correctly in protools also? If so, I would be willing to pay you to help me get it set up. We are currently tracking our new CD and will be doing a CD release party in March. I would love to be able to use the EZdrummer or SD 2.0 sounds on the CD. They are KILLER and simply the best in the industry!

Thanks for you help in advance.

BTW I pretty much need to be handheld when it comes to anything midi.

If you can help, please give me a call at EDIT anytime. I truly appreciate it.

    Hi,

please download the MIDI Preset found here:
    http://www.toontrack.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=61431
and follow the instructions on how to apply it.
This will get you on track with most of what needs setting up.

Then you need to switch off the Window> MIDI> Input Filter> Aftertouch in Pro Tools.
Then right-click the cymbal(s) in question in Superior 2.0 to select the Instrument and then switch the Envelope ON and adjust the Release Time.
Somewhere around 70-120 ms is a starting point.

    Best Regards,
    John

Thanks for your help. I am going to order the crossgrade to SD2.0 from EZdrummer. Hey, its only money right?

    Yes

I am sorry, I misread and the MIDI preset and Envelope settings are of course for Superior 2.0 and not EZdrummer.
The MIDI Input Filter setting in Pro Tools is valid anyways.

    Best Regards,
    John
