Hi There
I Just bought EZ Drummer 2 and trying to get it set up with my Roland V-drums with the TD-9 sound module and the VH-11 Hats, all the toms snare and cymbals seem to trigger the correct instrument in Ez Drummer except for the HI-hat’s when I hit the Hi Hat on top it plays a floor tom and when I hit the Edge of the hats it plays a semi closed hat sound and when I stomp the hats up and down it plays a snare X-Stick sound.
I am using a cheap Midi to usb cable straight into my MacBook Pro.
I have set the E-Drums kit in ez drummer to the Roland
Also one other thing when I start to play the drums fast I start to here Kind of ghost notes or like double up notes on my hits. In attempt to fix this I reduced the bit rate to 64 as I felt like this problem might be latency, But Ez Drummer says that my latency is at 3.9ms and buffer latency is at 1.5ms Which is pretty good I would think.
Also In attempt to fix these issues I factory reset my TD-9 Sound Module but this didn’t seem to help
Please if you can help me with this issue
.
I also have a TD-9 and purchased SD3 a month ago. My hi-hat is the only piece giving me issues as well. the hi-hats them selves sound good open and closed but when I press the hi-hat pedal I get WOODEN BLOCKS and Im not sure how to change that. The biggest problem though is I also get double notes when playing fast. My bass drum and my snare are super sensitive to this problem. Im sorry I don’t have an answer for you dude but hopefully we get one If I bump this post.
Hi,
the first thing to check is the data sent from the module, preferably in a DAW where you can closely inspect the notes on the timeline, to see if there are double triggers sent etc.
You can also open the Instrument Property drop-down in EZdrummer 2 and click Details for a simple MIDI In analyser. In SD3, the analyser is more detailed and is found on the MIDI IN/E-drums page.
Check Cross-talk settings in your module.

I used the TD-9 owners manual to find that settings page. I adjusted cross talk between all my instruments and tried setting all the set times etc. It didn’t seem to do anything. And the MIDI in analyzer is part of the interface when you click MIDI/E-drums. I can see the multiples as i play.
@SulPonticello:
So you can see that you are indeed sending double notes to the plugin?
Then you need to find and eliminate the source, since the plugin does not create those double notes coming in.
Though it may sound strange, I have had users telling me that switching cables solved simliar problems.
I am a bit puzzled though, in your first post you write that you get ‘wooden blocks’ when you perform a pedal chick but there are no wooden blocks in the SD3 Core kits.
Which expansion is loaded?
