I am planing to buy basically a td-3 kit but I am leaving some pads and cymbals out. Instead of the td-3 drum module I am going to use the Roland tmc-6 trigger-to-midi converter. My question is: Is it possible to predict, if the dfh Superior e-drum template for td-3 (or any) would work with that configuration?
I’m sure one of the templates will work for you…If not it’s pretty easy to set edrums up from scratch….I used to own a TMC-6 before I upgraded to a TD-12, it’s a great little unit…although it could do with a few more inputs

Thanks a lot grandaddy. The TD-3 module has more inputs and it’s cheaper. What makes the TMC-6 better (if so)?
The TMC-6 supports V-cymbals (3 – zone)… I seem to recall there are 5 stereo inputs (piezo/switch), 1 that doubles as a hihat pedal input, and 1 dual piezo input for the snare.
The TD-3 has 1 dual piezo input, 4 stereo inputs, 4 mono inputs and a separate hihat pedal input. It does not support V-cymbals

grandaddy – what do you mean that the td-3 doesn’t support v-cymbals? I am looking at a set right now that uses 2 Roland Dual trigger CY-8 Cymbal Pads. Please clarify. Thanks!
You only get better by playing.

Sorry I should have been clearer the TD-3 will work happily V-cymbals but does not support the 3-zone ride capability of the pricier modules. The CY-8’s will be fine
