TD-12 Snare Articulations with SD3

I am using my Roland TD-12 e-kit with Superior Drummer 3 and have 2 questions regarding the snare drum:

1.  When I load up the TD-12 midi preset in SD3, it does not automatically assign the rim or cross stick articulations to the snare. Is it supposed to or is there possibly something wrong with my setup?
2. I am not able to get a rimshot sound when playing an actual rimshot (hitting the head & rim at the same time) on the snare. Is the PD105 with the TD-12 brain not capable of this with SD3?
