Hi,
when I play a tambourine or shaker MIDI groove in the Goove tab it plays as a hi hat, crash or a tom.
I have to put them to the song track and copy them in the grid editor to the tambourine track to be able to hear them properly.
Is this by design or am I missing something….
Thanks,
Oggy
This sounds strange. Need some more information to track down the problem:
– When you are in the Grooves tab – have you added the shaker or tambourine instrument in the Drums tab?
– Can you open the MIDI Mapping box and check what MIDI note the tambourine or shaker is using?
– If you have a groove on the song track and go into Edit Play Style, select the shaker or tambourine and increase Amount – does it play correctly?
– The tambourine or shaker MIDI groove you are playing – are those from the Superior Drummer 3 / Percussion folder?

Thank you for your check list!
The MIDI grooves that I tried to play were not from the Superior Drummer 3 MIDI!
Everything is working OK. My mistake…
Best regards,
Oggy
Glad it worked out for you 🙂 Rock on!

Hi Henrick,
This has not been working for me for several weeks now…I’m on the same menu in both my DAW and STAND ALONE version in SD3 default and if I try other settings beside default I get other instruments playing shaker grooves…in DEFAULT i get NO SOUND….I even add a SD3 shaker to the default drums and still no sound to audition grooves…any suggestions?
Thx, jeff

Ok I added now the FUTURE HITS instrument in any settings including DEFAULT and now all is good!! thx!
I want to preview and add tambourine grooves while using a Superior Drummer 3 kit. I have added a tambourine from the Latin Percussion library as an x-instrument (add/future hits/tambourine).
When I find a groove I like (same library Henrick attached a screen shot of), it plays cymbals. Often, because of this issue, I open another instance of SD3 and load Latin Percussion. When previewing Tamb grooves it works and is mapped in a common sense way (articulations next to one another). If I drop the groove onto my song, it works.
But I don’t want to keep working between two SD3’s. With the Tamb as an x-instrument, I can alter the midi mapping. However, how do I know what midi notes to assign to perform the tambourine midi groove I want to preview? And one I eventually want to add? They don’t line up to be able to be previewed in the Grooves Tab.
I can manually draw in a tambourine groove…but there got to be a way to synch my aux percussion with the Grooves Tab.
I tried this all with a tambourine from the Superior Drummer 3 library…same results.

Hi Guys,
Sorry to repeat this question. Â I have no shaker sounds no mater where I try to get it in SD3. Â Â I go to the grooves section and I can play samples of any of the grooves but when I go to percussion none of them have any sound. Â Any help is appreciated.
Â
Edit: Â I got it to have sound but it’s like a rim shot or sticks clicking, not a shaker. Â This is for all my perc settings.
Man I would love to help but I’m having the same issue, did you ever figure it out? Love to hear from you if you did. I’ll keep checkin in for awhile I’m no spring chicken lol and will probably just give up if I don’t solve the issue myself or hear from you. Thanks from Tennessee USA
