The following are some features that could be quite useful and workflow-enhancing for myself and others:
1. Have DAW placed MIDI region names the same as MIDI found within the Grooves panel (as in SD2)
2. Option to display key names in MIDI In/E-Drums Settings pane (same as MIDI Mapping tab).
3. Ability to select individual drum parts (e.g., Snare, HH, etc.) within the Grooves Browser (Called “Kit Parts” in SD2)
4. Ability to click/hold/drag across multiple inline parameters in order to enable or disable them with one click (e.g., Edit Visibility in Mixer, Bleed Control On/Off buttons, Mute/Solo on Mixer)
5. Ability to use SD2 maps on SD3 kits (currently not working for me)
6. Option to completely hide Song Track (not just minimize)
7. Flexible Groove folder columns (name of folder gets truncated when selecting a drum groove folder with a long name (e.g., “Monster MIDI Fills Pack” and “Monster MIDI Fills Pack 2” both become “Monster MIDI Fills …” when selected)
8. Ability to use any Time Signature in Song track (e.g., 7/2, 37/64, etc.)
9. Customizable Song Part names and colors (in order to name and color parts according to other forms such as: Sonata, Compound Ternary, Theme and Variations, etc.)
10. Ability to clear mapping of all aliases for specified articulations in the MIDI Mapping Key area.
11. Ability to save and recall mapping presets within the MIDI Mapping Keys area
12. Ability to rename MIDI regions in Song Track
13. Detachable Panels and detachable MIDI In/E-Drums Settings
Thank you so much to all at Toontrack for this remarkable tool and for considering the suggestions listed above. I suppose I can pack away my Alesis SR-16 now 😉

Thanks for the feedback! Some ideas are already being worked on, the rest are noted!
Regarding “8. Ability to use any Time Signature in Song track (e.g., 7/2, 37/64, etc.)” – until this is fixed, by going into Track menu > “Edit Time Signature…” you have more detailed options, and can for example set 7/2.

Glad to hear that, Henrik. I know Toontrack’s got their ears on and are listening:) I really appreciate it!
Regarding 8 – Only four time signature denominators are available in the menu Track > Edit Time Signature function (see attached screenshot).
Regarding 1 – Having the names of the MIDI grooves/fills from the Grooves panel be reflected on the MIDI regions used in a DAW would be extremely helpful. As of now, all DAW placed MIDI regions are named “MIDI Region” which makes it impossible to know what MIDI has been used.
As a workaround, it was suggested to place the MIDI temporarily in the Song Track and use the “Find In Browser” function to check what MIDI has been used, but with a lot of fills this becomes overly difficult too, because after using the “Find In Browser” function for 20-30 fills or so, it’s next to impossible to remember all the previous MIDI that was just checked. In Superior 2 the name of the DAW placed MIDI was named according to the MIDI found in the grooves panel.
I will wait patiently and look forward to the updates.
Thank you!

The ability to map a cowbell or other instrument via a quick learn option when right clicking on an instrument that only applies to the Kit being edited would be good.
If I want to add a cowbell to a rim of my pad for the 14” Tom it’d be great if I just right click the cowbell and amongst the options to that are presented I get a “quick kit only learn” would mean so much.
I can’t seem to add the cowbell from the Rock SDX to a playing surface or maybe I’m missing something. Wading through the menus might be the answer.
Thank you.
Using MacBook Pro, and Td-12
The vintage Zelkova snare has really come to life in sd3. Very cool.

That is one of the features we have already added. We’ll see when we can release this for you guys!

I thought of another useful addition.
It would be really useful to right click a channel strip and copy all settings so I can paste it into another channel strip. That way I can set up one tom channel and just tweak the eq afterwards.
Another similar thing would be a copy function on a plug-in so I can just copy one of them.
I’ve managed to get the cowbell on the hoop of a tom, but I have to change midi map preset to go back to a previous state. It’d be great to save each kit with the stuff I want inbit without changing the midi map every time.
Unless someone sees some way of doing it and I’ve missed something.
It sounds great. Very impressed, I’ve been playing for 28 years and SD3 makes me realise that I could go out and play live with a Jobecky kit in future and sell off a lot of my acoustics when I want to retire from work and travel more with my wife.

You can save a user preset and load that to the other tom channels, but your idea would be nice feature, and more handy in some situations.

I’m not sure I’m following you here. You add a tambourine to a tom’s Rimshot – and the MIDI mapping changes after that?
Henrik Ekblom - User Experience Designer

Yes, I add a cowbell or tambourine to the rim of a Tom, save it as a preset, load another Kit and the rim of the 16” Tom now plays the snare hoop , try it. I want it to play the same as the Kit did before I changed to the cowbell in the rock sdx Kit. The midi mapping has changed and I have to set it back again. If I now go back to my preset with the sdx rock Kit it plays the rim of the tom rather than the cowbell again. So I have to change the midi map to get it to play the cowbell again.
Ok, I am starting to understand your workflow. Where do you change kit – in the preset menu, under “Part Presets / Drumkits”?
Henrik Ekblom - User Experience Designer
Toontrack
basically I’d like to have a midi learn button that doesn’t change the midi map, just the kit. That way to load a kit into SD3 that has been configured to be what I want it to be rather than having to load a midi map.
I think it’s because the cowbell is mapped to a general midi note, so when I use learn to get the cowbell onto the tom-tom rim it’s telling the midi map to put that general midi note number to the tom-tom rim, when SD2 used to alter the midi note that triggers the cowbell.
So a quick learn would map the instrument to the playing surface but not alter the midi map. that way when you save the kit it won’t affect the midi map that you are using just the kit’s midi setup.
SD2 was great for this, but it’s not happening in SD3
I hope that makes things clearer
I’ve found that my old SD2 presets don’t work on my Roland Midi map unless I alter it, or them so I’m going to go back and alter those today.
You have to decide whether you want this mapping to be a change to how
that drum kit preset reacts to MIDI or how the incomming MIDI from
your e-kit is interpreted. In the first case you make the change in the
the MIDI property box of the drums and in the second case you go into
the E-drum settings tab and change the mapping there.
