You are right. Currently this is not an option, and I can’t say that it ever will be an option. I will however pass on your feedback.

    Hi,

I’m actually in the same situation, EZ Drummer 2 does everything I currently do with Superior Drummer, but only in an easier way and since most of the drum sounds I use are already EZ Drummer sounds it seems EZ Drummer 2 to be a better fit. It will be nice to have a crossgrade option.

    Thanks.

I’ve only had Superior Drummer for a couple of months, I now wish I had waited. EZ 2 has more features and it costs less too.

I am also very interested in doing a crossgrade from Superior Drummer 2 to EZ Drummer 2. With so many people asking about it I think it should be an option!

Pardon the threadsurrection. I wanted to ensure this circumstance remains the same: Do Superior 2 users need to buy the full (non-upgrade) version of EZDrummer 2 to gain access to the songwriting features?

Count me in on this situation: EZ Drummer 2 being a better program than Superior.
While updating my PT system I have been going over all my software. Once again I have a project and am frustrated at how difficult/time consuming it is working around Superior in writing my own drum tracks. The sound of Sup is so darn good I just can’t go back to the other drum programs, but other songwriting systems are so much easier. Then I looked at EZ D 2–Song Creator. It is the answer.

So, come on people, help us, help me anyway. Get me into EZ D 2 in some way I don’t have to uninstall Superior & buy new EZ 2.

    Thanks, Cynthia

I’m another customer who owns SD 2 but thinks EZD 2 has better features for my needs. If SD is about to get some sort of update to include these features as in something like SD 3, please let us know now so that we don’t regret purchasing EZD 2 only to have an SD 3 come out shortly thereafter with the added songwriting features at a lower update cost for us. That wouldn’t be fair to not tell us if you’re already working on it. It’s not like you’d be tipping your hand to a competitor, so there’s no need for secrecy here.

I’ve seen a few of these posts now. But, they all seem to die around 2015. I’ve been using Superior for nearly fifteen years. I JUST learned (last night) about EZ’s tap to find and search features. I love Superior. I don’t want to buy EZ. But, I DO want EZ’s songwriting features. I WOULD be will to pay a smaller price for just those features. Maybe, an upgrade to EZ Player, or a new version of EZ Player. I’d be fine with that. But buying EZ Drummer 2 just for a small part of what it does seems silly to me. I know I could extract songs to Superior … but, that still seems silly.

Update: Nevermind. I just bought/downloaded EZ Drummer. It’s WAY Fun! I love the smart play style editing. I think I’ll be happy that I bought this!! I’m already loving it!!

im not liking ez 3 and need to downgrade to ez drummer 2, which was the trial that sold me on the program. bait and switch

I have been a happy user of SD2 for years. SD3 seems brilliant, but does so many

things that I really don’t need – and has a huge digital footprint.  I think ED3 now fits

my streamlined approach to music a little better.  I would make the leap today if Toontrack

offered a crossgrade.  (Hint, hint)  🙂
