Superior 2.0 map for ddrum4 SE?

Folks,

I just upgraded to Superior 2.0/Metal Foundry and am having some trouble getting MIDI produced by my Ddrum4 SE to work (especially the hi hats!). I can get pretty far using the learn function but the hats don’t want to play nice. I’ve searched these forums, the toontrack downloads section, as well as the dirty old internet, but no success so far. Has anyone here gotten this to work?

Hi,

not knowing the specifics of your module, I’d still say that starting off with the ‘E-drums’ MIDI preset is your best bet and ‘L’earn what’s missing from there.
Then the individual HH articulations are cleared and the hatsTrig articulations are set up for triggering (even though you may have to Learn the note values for those 2 or 3, depending on if you have a 2- or 3-zone HH). In the MIDI preset Menu you also find HH correction curves, should you find the the response is, e.g. too steep.

Thanks much for your response! If no one has a simple preset I could just load in, I’ll follow your instructions and try to get it working manually. Any other ddrum4 / S2 owners out there that wouldn’t mind sharing their drum mapping?

your ddrum would be very likely sending note numbers 97 all the way up to 103 when hitting the pad, so those are the assignments you need to make to HatsTrig. In additional you should assign note 96 to ‘closed pedal’.

… see page 26 as well as 47 onwards for some explanation (I recommend assigning manually as detailed page 26). But first you need to identify the correct notes send by the module by recording a performance into your sequencer and identifying the note numbers.

I’m using the DDRUM DD5XM module with my custom drum kit and superior drummer 2.0 does not trigger sensitivities correctly. I wonder if It’s because the program doesn’t directly support DDRUM as a manufacturer in the mapping tab. It’s only like Roland, Alesis and Yamaha.
