Hi all,
when triggering Superior in Cubase from my DrumKAT, the note required to trigger a given note is one octave higher than the actual assigned note in Superior. e.g. to trigger the C1 Kick, I have to transmit a C2 note. I’ve checked that there are no transpositions set in Cubase. I’ve also used a midi monitor (midi-ox) to check the incoming notes and a C2 from my DrumKAT is definitely still a C2 at my midi in port, so either Cubase or Superior itself is transposing everything down an octave somewhere. Any idea what is causing this?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy.
Hi – once again (many discussions have taken place on the support board), relative note nomenclatures are by definition arbitrary. Different manufacturers use different references but note 36 remains note 36 (aka Kick in GM) regardless.

Thanks Rogue. I guess that could be it. In all my years midi’ing I havn’t come across a difference in octave numbering nomenclature before in any of the kit I’ve used – C1 has always matched up with C1 on everything else. Must be just lucky I guess. I’ll check it out.
EDIT: I would have searched the forum but the help aread wasn’t available for some reason when I posted this thread, only the FAQ. Looks like its open again now.
yes, I could recoup your info so you should have full forum access now.
