Hi everyone,
First post on here, hope I’m in the right place!
I’ve been messing around with SD2 for a while now using the MIDI loops and manually programming some beats but I’ve finally taken the plunge and bought a Roland TD-11 to record ‘properly’. I’m using Presonus Studio One 3 as my host. I wondered if folks had any tips for getting the most out of a similar setup? It seems like there are an infinite number of options on the kit, within SD2 and within the DAW so its a bit overwhelming knowing where to start!
All I’ve had time to do is to get everything plugged in and running with one of the Ludwig combined presets and I’m impressed so far. Although I’ve a fair amount of experience with DAWs I’ve never used much MIDI with the exception of the occasional string part etc so even something as simple as: should I use a MIDI cable and go through my Focusrite interface or should I use USB straight into my Mac? Or does it make no difference?
Any hints and tips much appreciated!
Cheers
Gavin
