This is my DIY drums so far. At the moment their balenced on my dd502/millenium pads because i cant work out how to make a pvc rack! You may also notice the DIY Knex music stand in the background and also a Knex drum stick holder

Ill keep posting as it gets built!

there are pieces of wood… 10mm plywood… they are screwed with the shell…   the screws are inside the lugs… head piezos are above the plywood,on a pmma plate, isolated with three mini silentblocks… rim piezos are on the plywood, at the center, below the head piezos…

Still a work in progress. Everything is single-zone connected to an Alesis D4 then MIDI to my DAW running Reaper and Addictive Drums.

Awaiting receipt of my Trigger IO so I can actually connect everything and get multi-zone support and… FINALLY!!!… variable hihat pedal. Besides multi-zone cymbals the damn variable HH will be my favorite upgrade.

In the background you can see my 1990’s S&S Industries and Pintech Visulite set on a Gibraltar rack. Was my first drums ever and got me hooked. Works pretty well but limited in dynamic range, plus the triggers are 6″, 8″ x 3, and 10″ which are just too small for my poor aim. 😉 I’ll end up on Craigslist once I get the A-2-E working well.
