i thought i would buy a drum machine, something like the boss dr. rhythm 880. but now i’m thinking ez drummer might be better for me. i want something for recording, which i think ez drummer would be better. but i also want something i can use for practice. specifically, i want to know whether i can “step program” rhythms into ez drummer. for example, let’s say i want to work on a rhythm, and the rhythm is: 1/16 rest, 1/16 note, dotted 1/8, 1/16 rest, (tied) 1/8 rest, 1/16 note, etc. can i create that rhythm in ez drummer, and loop two bars of it over and over, for practice?
also, my specific questions also concern the metronome function in ez drummer. can i make the downbeat (the first beat of the measure) have a different sound than the rest of the beats? and will the metronome play just by itself, if that’s all i want (in other words, not in addition to a drum track)? and conversely, will the metronome play while a drum track is playing? i guess that’s pretty much it. thanks for your help. i’ve been having trouble finding anybody who can help me with these questions. by the way, i’m using a macbook pro, 0SX 10.6, tracktion 4, mackie onyx 820i.
For specific programming and metronomic functioning you need a Host Daw and insert EZ Drummer as a plug in .
