Hi. I’ve been a SD2 user for years and currently I am on a laptop that is optimized for audio production and I do play all drums on e-drums and I do everything in low buffer size cuz I can’t work live with high latency. How is the sd3 compared to sd3 in terms of cpu load? I know if you max out on the effects and such on the sd3 it’s hard to compare and it will be a cpu hog probably but right now I only use OH and a few close mics and use some eq and compression in the daw and I am able to play in 96 buffer size without dropouts. Is SD3 in the same ballpark if used sparingly or is the program itself a cpu hog. I know that a laptop isn’t the optimal solution for this task but right now it’s what I got 🙂
Thanks
CPU usage for the sampler engines in SD2 and SD3 is very similar if not identical.
SD3 also offers to use multiple cores.
