SD3 Split Download – Hard Drive and External

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn’t see this exact question.

Can I d/l the basic configuration (download 1?) and install this to my hard drive…… and then d/l parts 2,3,4,5 and instal straight to the external drive?

The issue I have is my Macbook only has 180GB left so I haven’t got enough room to d/l everything and instal on HD and then move some elements to the external drive afterwards.

Also, which parts need to be kept together on the HD installation?

All parts that are installed need to be in the same location. Couldn’t you install all to the external drive at once?

Hi, yes in theory I could install everything to the external drive.

Just to be clear – are you saying EVERYTHING to be installed to the external drive including the basic program files itself? Sorry if this is a dumb question but usually I would have all software like this on the HD and within Application folders so that it’s all kept backed up on time machine and operates as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Just all parts of the sound library need to be together. You can have the program files on the internal drive, that’s fine.

ok great. I take it then that during the installation process you can specify where you want the sound libraries installed initially?

To add to this question if I have already installed all of the files can I just move the sound files to an external SSD drive and if so do I need to do anything in the program to tell it where I moved the sound files location to?

You’re going to be moving the ‘SL-XXXXXXXX’ folder for the library in question.
Once moved;
In SuperiorDrummer3’s Settings Menu select Libraries.
Click the ‘Browse for Library Paths’ button
and then navigate to the ‘SL-XXXXXXXX’ folder for the selected library at its new location.
