I have about 6 SDX’s and the core library – but I always use my own plugins to compress, eq, and sometimes add ambience. So in BFD3 I load my re-usable mixer preset and loaded the kit pieces from various packs. I know in SD3 there’s quite a different expected workflow. But there’s a video:
As far as I can tell, this video suggests that there are mixer part presets but I have none listed when my original project is loaded (in the DARKNESS SDX). So I don’t know how to save any part of my mixer settings so they will be able to be loaded when opening my new SDX (I just bought AREA 33 AND WANT TO USE MY CREATED MULTI-OUTPUT CONFIGURATION IN MY DAW WITH MY DAW CHANNEL ROUTINGS AND THEIR EXTERNAL 3RD PARTY EFFECT PLUGINS.
To clarify, when I go to my desired multi-out configuration (which for sake of example, let’s say I used Death and Darkness to create it) in the right-side-top of the GUI there are 2 drop downs; one for the sdx library, and one for the presets (as opposed to the Project, which is accessed on the top left under FILE.)
On that preset drop down there are no mixer parts to load, and nowhere to save mixer parts.
My understanding is that if I go to the left side, and save a Project, when I reload that project it will always load the sdx that was saved with it. That’s not what I want.
Similarly, when I go to Routings, although I see the options Clear ALL and AUTO ASSIGN, but I SEE NO LOAD OR SAVE option. I didn’t want to select AUTO ASSIGN to see if that would open up a new option to SAVE something – because I don’t want to risk altering something I’m not aware of and can’t fix. So my mind is boggled. That video I referenced above doesn’t seem to be applicable to anything but using one mixer preset for another while the core library is loaded. Sure, I can use that as a start and begin to add X drums, but the reason I’ve purchased Area 33 is so that I can use the extra toms as part of my SD3 template.
Hi,
I am not sure I understand you correctly but if you “only” wish to keep a multi-out routing you have saved in a Project/Preset when switching to another Preset, having the “Keep Output Routing on Preset Change” option checked would help you. This can be found in the Drums and Mixer Presets drop-down to the right of the Library drop-down.
Note however that libraries have different microphone setups, routings may have to be adjusted.

John
