I just decided to upgrade the sound of an old Roland kit with SD3 and a retired Windows convertible. The results are amazing and I am thinking about mounting the convertible to my drum rack!
However, there is a little inconvenience because I can only control SD3 when the convertible is in its laptop configuration, while I would love to attach it to my rack in tablet mode which is much more compact. I understand, that creating a complete and optimized touch interface is a lot of work and certainly not high priority, so I do not even dare to ask for one. Actually, SD3 already can be controlled quite fine with touch except for the menus…
When I try to navigate one of the menus on the touch screen (like the main menu at the top or the one which selects different kit presets), I cannot navigate into submenus. The menus seem to only expand when there is a hover event from the mouse, which does not happen on a touch screen. If I am not mistaken, there would be no harm in extending the menu on a mouse-click event as well. This would be a very simple fix, which would allow to do at least the basic stuff on a touchscreen.
Thanks for the feedback. We will look into this matter!

Was this issue ever fixed? I cant use Superior drummer 3 on a Microsoft surface pro in tablet mode – I get the same issue. You can open menus but not select anything!
I have just bought the latest version of Superior Drummer 3 and sadly that does not work with my touchscreen. I can click on the drums with a mouse but the touchscreen does nothing both when Superior Drummer 3 is launched stand alone or from my DAW. Touchscreen works fine in other applications.
Really disappointing – it’s the kind of thing I would have like to find out in a trial (but there isn’t one in Superior Drummer 3) – I hope they fix this but is still an issue 2 years on from the original post!

What touchscreen system are you using? Windows on a Surface?

Hi,
System – Windows 10 with all latest updates
My monitor is: Dell 091N324 P2418HT 24-Inch Touch LED Monitor
Note, it works in all other Windows apps.
It would be great if SD3 could support touch.
Thanks,
Thanks for the report. It sounds strange that it doesn’t work, since pressing the screens should just emulate a mouse click – which should play the drum when clicking, for example… I’ll try to dig into this, to see why it’s not working.
