    Yes! Superior Drummer 3 Sound Library, and all SDX:s can be individually placed anywhere. EZX:s must be gathered in one folder though.

    How would I move the SD2 SDX files to the new drive to free up space and have it recognized by both SD2 and SD3?

    As I don’t know what machine your are on I can only use myself as a example (Mac).
    If you move all your SDX libraries to the same drive and top directory (for example I have them all in SSD Sample 2/Toontrack/Superior Drummer/SL-*);
    Move all the folders starting with SL-* from their original location to SSD Sample 2/Toontrack/Superior Drummer/
    Start SD3 (standalone)
    Select Settings>Libraries>Browse for Library Path(s)
    Select the new library.

    If you only relocated a few SDX libraries you can use this approach;
    Move the SL-* folders to your new location.
    Start SD3 (standalone)
    Select Settings>Libraries
    Scroll down until you find the libraries that have been moved. There will be a message indicating SD3 can not find the library.
    At the very right of that screen you will there is a menu selector; select edit path and navigate to the new path.

    After you have finished both SD3 and SD2 should be able to find the new path to the libraries.
    Hope this helps
