I suggest to add an option to choose between insert or overwrite mode when dragging MIDI items from the Grooves panel to the track:
1. Overwriting existing MIDI items (default behavior in SD3).
Or:
2. Insert mode will move existing MIDI items on the track after the inserted MIDI item.
This useful feature is available in several DAW’s and video editors which saves time. This is a screenshot:
Suggestions:
Add an insert/overwrite checkbox in the Block menu.
Add an image button below de scissors (cut) to select the insert/overwrite mode.
Add keyboard shortcut Control + drag to insert.
