Hi Folks,
I searched for some content here on the forum but couldn’t find it.
Pro player here.
Looking to purchase the lowest price e-drum solution for compatible triggering of Superior Drummer 2 (faithfully and accurately as well) for recording.
I’m recording on a MacBook Pro running OS X Yosemite (probably El Capitan soon) going into Reaper as a DAW
I have no interest in playing the kit live.
I have a great interest in how the hi hat controller works and records with SD 2.x and some interest in how sensitive the pads can interface (the latter being not as big a deal as the hi hat).
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen posts on vdrums.com saying that the TD-1K is a good solution for triggering having the most current hi hat and latency technology.
Don’t need to choke cymbals and I have an SPD-S if I need more triggered sounds from SD 2.x. I’m hoping for detailed CC04 generated results from the hi Hat controller. I’ve experimented using the Mod Wheel on my keyboard controller so I know what it’s supposed to sound like.
The other thing I keep hearing is Roland is the best fit, brand wise, for the Toontrack drivers. More plug and play than others
Would love to hear from those who have experience with this setup, now or in the past.
TIA for you input
Jim
