Hey,
Just wondering if there’s anyone out there that has a midi preset for the TD20 that has the hi-hat tweaked really well, or has some tips on what works for tweaking? I’ve been messing around for days, and I still can’t seem to clean up the hi-hat open/close hits. (ie. If I hit the hi-hat with it partially opened, then close it quickly, having the sound cut off cleanly, like it would in real life.)
Also, if anyone has made changes on the TD20 module itself that seem to help getting it more realistic, I would be interested in hearing what you did there as well.
thanks!

Hi
Go to the instrument pane (bottom right) > select ‘Hats’ from the Instrument dropdown > select ‘hatsCtrl’ from the articulation dropdown > below the articulation dropdown there is an ‘EDIT ARTICULATION ONLY’ button, press this > Go to the ‘Voices and Layers’ Pane to the left of the Instrument Pane > Reduce the ‘Hard’ value in the velocity ctrl until you hear tight hats.
You should be done…..Once you’ve done this I would save as a MIDI preset

I tried this and voila!, success!
Although, I think it changed the what I’m hearing in the hats in the open position, that I don’t care for.
Oh well, I guess it’ll just take some tweaking/getting used to.
